In the solitude of the night, 
his face turned to stone, 
as dawn came the sun cracked expressions the darkness lacked,
seagulls remind me of the shoreline,
beaches where my sandcastles lay beneath a thin warm layer of sea water, 
love comes like the tide,
I hold the mane of my horse and hang on for the ride, 
looking through the tall grass, 
glimpses of the confines of my perspective,
held firm by frustration and comfort,
