  • Bunting

    Bunting
    My saddlebags stink,
with the weight of French carcasses,
    tantra tundra,
    Mongol blunder,
    sorry soldiers,
    keep an army marching,
    horses smell water,
    bison fresh pasture,
    elephant vibes,
    hawks hunt the hunters,
    we wander as one,
  • Platitudes

    Platitudes
    Kind omens,
    leading to an eerie silence,
    heartache and repressed violence,
    sanctity of the timid,
    belittling of the bold,
    half a story left untold,
    questions remain,
    as the years unfold,
    emotions dissipate,
    but the heart remains cold,
  • Thala

    Thala
I pass over bridges in the night,
I look across at the ships I burn't,
with the ashes of ancestors in my nostrils,
    in my chest,
    I do my best,
    as do the worms,
    they decompose,
    while looking for fish,
    I wish,
    the wealth of the nations,
    it's dairy delights,
    the preservation of innocence,
    young cannibals,
    sanctity of saints,
    red crescent,
    bright moon,
    under which we belong,
    together as one,
  • Trader John and the Great Hedge of India

Trader John and the Great Hedge of India

    I check my phone,
    sync the Bluetooth,
    and wait,
    I hear the pips,
    the shipping forecast,
    suitably informed,
    I watch,
those consigned to work at home,
wait to break down the doors of the trading office,
    social verification,
    social difference,
    with temporary clarity,
    I place my orders,
  • Tradition

    Tradition

    People vote with their feet,
    guided by perception,
    intuitive by design,
hold your fist to your heart and align,
    comfortable in your context,
    thank-you for sitting with me,
    by the river,
    next to the tree,

  • Oorah

    Oorah

I float towards the lines with the Polish hussars,

    mounted on a lilac pony,

naked with a bear skin saddle,

it is not democracy that spurs me,

but an incorrect understanding of utilitarianism,

we must take care of everyone and everything,

    not just serve the majority,

    business as usual,

    savage,

like the angry Volvo driver with a car packed with Ikea furniture,

    grant no favour,

    show no remorse,

  • Lane

    Lane

    A young lady,
    her diplomatic envoy,
    making a constructive advance,
    leaving nothing to chance,
    brown eyes,
    blue shoes,
    solitary,
    but not confined,
the heartache of the romantically blind,
    black hair,
    brown jacket,
    standing still,
    she sounds so shrill,
his tattoos are the only clues,
of the history he stands to lose,
    Faberge,
    blue chinos,
    hers to choose,
    cigarettes and booze,
    music for the moment,
    sorrow in the silence,

  • Horizontal Gene Transfer

    Horizontal Gene Transfer
    A dog in a yard,
    barks in the early hours,
    decisions,
    determinants,
    made a long time ago,
    the wolf is hunted,
    weary,
    free all the same,
enduring a different kind of pain,
    the cow it gives,
    out of love,
    but not for you,
    as long as you're grateful,
    and forever stay true,
  • Konkani

    Konkani
    Hypocritically pious,
    terribly devout,
    they cast her out,
    wittering woe,
    her framework,
    quickly became her foe,
    turning on herself,
    sacrificing health,
    then comfort,
    without conclusion,
    perhaps it was an illusion,
  • Lightly toasted toast

    Lightly toasted toast
    The uncomfortable comfort,
    of a home of truths,
    in a world of whiskey,
    surrounded by sleuths,
