figures of strength,
companion,
the voyage,
vessel,
recourse,
stood before her bows,
crashing waves crush my doubts,
swell,
defining course,
reverberations of a pacifist,
weevils in the biscuits,
soldier and sailor, 
share another damp cigarette,
